RigTrain is Europe’s largest training facility of its kind, delivering Drilling and Well Services training to the Oil and gas Sector, Internationally.
RigTrain is the training division of Weatherford U.K. Ltd. Since its conception in May 2001, the company’s focus on Industry training needs has placed RigTrain firmly on the North Sea and International Oilfield map.
The core business of RigTrain is the delivery of theoretical and practical Training in Drilling and Well Intervention Technology to Major Operators, Contractors and Service companies, by instructors with extensive operational experience. Both the IWCF and IADC Accredited training courses for Drilling Well Control and Well Intervention Pressure Control run weekly at the customised facility in Aberdeen. In total, over forty courses are currently on offer, some with scheduled dates and others to be arranged upon request. The training is modular and therefore, can be tailored to specific company needs.
The RigTrain site has two full-size fully working Land Rigs, with two crews, four completed Test Bore Holes and a full size Rig Floor Drilling Simulator. Drilling and downhole techniques and training can be developed, tested and demonstrated without the risks and costs associated with live offshore wells.
There are ten well-equipped spacious air-conditioned classrooms, all with integral audio-visual systems, supported by good catering provision and ample parking.
We have fifteen IWCF accredited training centres worldwide. In addition to the Aberdeen facility, our thirteen instructors travel internationally delivering Accredited and tailored training at the client preferred location.
