What did you do at school?
I originate from Lagos , Nigeria and the qualification system is similar to the UK . I studied Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. My grades were typically A’s and B’s
What path did you take when you finished school?
After completing high school in Nigeria and applied and was accepted in a university in America where I studied Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering for 2 years. After 2 years in America I looked at an other overseas location and applied and was accepted on the M Eng in Mechanical and Offshore Engineering at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen . I am currently studying in my 3 rd year.
How did you find out about the Oil and Gas Industry?
The Oil and Gas industry is the major industry within Lagos and many people are employed in the sector. My sister is also employed with a company involved in the Oil and Gas Industry
What do you like about the Scholarship and Energy Cranes?
I really enjoy the programme and it gives me invaluable work experience whilst I study at University. There are a wide range of opportunities within the company and not just engineering. When I graduate the company also has number offices around the world and this will hopefully allow me travel. Also the pay conditions within the industry are excellent.

What did you do at School?
I complete 8 standard grades all at general level – English, Maths, Computing, Tech Studies, Craft & Design, Physics, French & History
I left School during my 5 th year to take an apprenticeship with Energy Cranes.
How did you find out about the Energy industry?
Whilst at school our year was invited to an open day held at Banff & Buchan College . The open was designed to give school pupils an opportunity to meet with employers.
How did you find out about Apprenticeship at Energy Cranes?
Myself and a couple of friends took along a CV to give to employers at the open day. It was during the event I met Energy Cranes and I was contacted a couple of months later to come along for an interview.
What do you like about the Industry?
The variety of work, opportunity to go offshore and the possibility to work all over the world. I am also aware the salaries are excellent.

How did you get from School to University?
I studied 5 highers at school; English, Maths, Tech Studies, Physics & Geography. My grades where B’s and C’s.
I left school and worked in the manufacturing industry for 2 years before I started my 4 year degree course (Engineering Design BSc (Eng)) at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen .
How did you find out about Energy Cranes?
After graduating I tried to apply for positions with the Renewables Industry, however at the time there were not as many graduate opportunities. I had sent my CV to a recruitment agency after I had graduated who then contacted me about the graduate opportunities.
What do you do in your day to day job?
I am currently involved in 3 – 4 year graduate programme. I am currently working as a project engineer; this role is to oversee a project from start to finish. Typically a client will in a request for a project, my role is to ensure from start to finish the project is done on time and within budget.
