FMB

The Federation of Master Builders was established over 60 years ago to protect the interests of small and medium sized building firms. Today it is the largest trade association in the UK\'s building industry.

The FMB is a source of knowledge, professional advice and support for its members, providing a wide range of modern and relevant building services to save them time and money. Independent and non-profit making, the FMB lobbies continuously for members\' interests at Holyrood, Westminster and Brussels.

In March 2003, the Which? Consumer survey commended the FMB for "setting high standards for joining". Only those builders and specialists who can prove their skills and good business standing are accepted as members. FMB builders work to a strict code of practice that they commit to every year when they renew their membership. The code of practice covers their relationship with customers throughout the building process.

FMB Scotland plays an active role in developing and improving the training culture of building companies based in Scotland. Agreements and practices are put into place in agreement with training providers and Trade Unions to ensure that the industry invests in its workforce of the future.
