Barr Limited is an extensive construction, aggregates and support services organisation operating across the United Kingdom in several market sectors.

The core of the organisation is the Construction Division which accounts for 75% of the turnover and staff resource. This Division can boast market leadership in the delivery of stadia projects having completed over forty projects in this field in the UK. Other sectors include retail, education and leisure.

In the leisure sector, Barr has just completed two major civic leisure centres in Kirkintilloch and Penicuik. This follows the successful completion of Rangers FC\'s Murray Park Training Academy in 2001. Tesco are Barr\'s main client in the retail sector with over fifty schemes completed for the retailer as part of our ongoing framework arrangement. Projects have also been completed for Homebase, Dobbies, PC World and B&Q.

Our skills in educational construction have developed in recent years and we now have a completed portfolio of over a dozen schools across the Country with a further ten currently on-site. Barr has also secured the contract to design and build North Glasgow College\'s new campus in Springburn as well as a new "HUB" facility for the University of Glasgow.

Solway Precast and Solway Structural Steel make up Barr\'s Manufacturing Division. These subsidiaries produce a variety of precast concrete and structural steel products at their fabrication facilities in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. As well as the production facilities, the Division also retains a dedicated drawing and design office.

The Industrial Division\'s main elements are quarrying and plant supply. Barr operate fifteen quarries in the South West of Scotland producing a range of aggregates including hard rock, sand and gravel. The Division also operates several fixed concrete batching plants and can supply ready mix concrete throughout the country.

The overall turnover of the Barr Limited organisation is over £250M with in excess of 900 people employed across our UK sites. The Company regularly takes on a range of apprentices and trainees across both professional and trades disciplines. There are also graduate opportunities in several fields including quantity surveying, engineering and construction management.
